Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a dedicated team member to manage inventory flow in a fast-paced retail setting. You’ll sort, process, and prepare donated merchandise for display and sale, supporting a high-energy environment and helping shoppers find great values.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and customer service, with emphasis on counting items, organizing by category, and maintaining a clean appearance.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Transfer merchandise from containers to determine suitability for the sales floor according to guidelines.
• Stay abreast of brand names, designer labels, and current/vintage styles.
• Prepare items for the sales floor and evaluate quality, pricing, value and salability.
• Count items processed and record on the official log.
• Sort apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories per quota.
• Place items on hangers and transport to the sales floor with grouping.
