Job summary

Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay in Hayward, CA seeks a Store Associate to help deliver an exceptional customer and brand experience while processing donations and assisting shoppers. You will greet donors, label items, provide receipts, and help with loading and unloading merchandise, with emphasis on safety and efficient workflow.

The role requires strong customer service, ability to obtain forklift certification, and willingness to cross-train in other store positions.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to pass a forklift certification class.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Accepts all donations from customers, providing outstanding customer service.
• Responsible for correctly labeling Gaylords.
• Ensures that a receipt is offered to each donor.
• Inquires of hazardous product and provides disposal locations.
• Writes up sales tickets and sold signs for furniture and large items.
• Assists customers with loading/unloading furniture or items.
• Maintains merchandise placement and production room organization.
• Assists in loading/unloading onto/off trucks or trailers.
• Operates pallet jack and walkie stacker safely.
• Performs daily safety inspections on equipment.
• Follows safety rules and uses safety equipment.
• Provides floor care duties at a retail store as needed.
• Cross trains in other store positions as needed.
• Maintains regular in-person attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
