Job summary

Horizon Goodwill Industries, Inc is seeking a Donation Attendant to welcome donors, evaluate donations, and ensure a positive donor experience at the store donation area.

You will handle donations with care, educate the public about our mission, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the donation area while following safety procedures. Training may be provided for cross-functional roles within the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, not required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must pass criminal background screening.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide donors with exceptional customer service and greet within 10 seconds.
• Evaluate donations and politely decline items when not on the do not accept list (manager approval required for some items).
• Accurately track donations and encourage donor feedback surveys.
• Sort donations into textiles or hard goods per guidelines and dispose of obvious trash.
• Maintain organized donation area and assist with cleaning and safety procedures.
• Support production and material handling as needed.
• Follow safety, security, and paperwork procedures and participate in training.

Job Summary:The Donation Attendant will be responsible for acceptance of qualified donations at the designated store donation area. Will be responsible for providing a positive donor experience through great customer service, handling donations with care, and educating the public on our mission.Essential Functions:Provide donors with exceptional customer service including but not limited to, greeting within 10 seconds of arriving, evaluating donations, politely declining items on our do not accept list (manager approval required for items being declined when not on our do not accept list), assisting donors and handling donations with care, and maintaining an organized and clean donation area.Accurately track all donations according to established standards.Encourage donors to complete feedback surveys as required.Sort donations into textile or hard goods categories according to guidelines; only disposing of obvious trash.Maintain efficient product flow in line with company policies and procedures.Serve as a Goodwill Ambassador by consistently demonstrating HGI values and striving to provide excellent service in all interactions.Assist with maintaining store and donation area cleanliness by picking up trash, sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying trash cans, and ensuring hangers and racks are orderly.Assist production associates with material handling needs.Follow all required safety and security procedures including the use of protective equipment.Maintain compliance with all company policy and procedures as well as store policies to include but not limited to: opening and closing tasks and accurate, timely completion of required paperwork.Participate in training, including cross training for other positions in store.Perform all other duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, not required.Reliable transportation.Must successfully pass criminal background screening.Ability to lift, push, and pull up to fifty (50) lbs., with or without assistance.Potential Career Paths:Donation Attendant OperatorLead Donation AttendantSales LeadProduction LeadAssistant Store ManagerStore Manager
