Dahlia Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, part of Alliance Health Group in North Carolina, is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing team and ensure top-tier resident care, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance.
As DON, you will supervise RNs, LPNs, and CNAs; oversee admissions, care planning, staffing, policies, budgeting, and performance improvement—collaborating with physicians, families, and departments to enhance care and outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and help ensure the highest standards of resident care, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance. The Director of Nursing provides leadership and oversight for the nursing department, working closely with nursing staff, residents, families, physicians, and facility leadership. The DON is responsible for maintaining high-quality clinical care, supporting and developing the nursing team, and ensuring the department operates effectively and in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
Lead, supervise, and evaluate nursing personnel, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and quality care.
Develop and maintain effective staffing practices to support resident needs.
Establish department goals and implement strategies to improve clinical outcomes and quality of care.
Oversee admissions, assessments, care planning, and resident care processes.
Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility standards.
Monitor compliance with state and federal regulations and address identified deficiencies or areas of concern.
Review clinical documentation, quality measures, and nursing department performance.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Manage nursing department resources, budgets, and expenditures.
Support staff development, education, coaching, and performance management.
Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and other departments to address resident needs and improve overall care.
Identify and resolve clinical and operational concerns in a timely and effective manner.
Maintain accurate and compliant nursing records and documentation.
Communicate regularly with facility leadership regarding nursing operations, staffing, quality, and resident care.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
Previous experience as a Director of Nursing or in a nursing leadership role, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
Understanding of budgeting, staffing, and financial management.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to coach, develop, and motivate nursing staff.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification as required.
