Job summary

Berkeley & Georgetown is seeking a DV agent trainee to supervise a domestic violence caseload under general supervision. The role involves building professional networks, promoting community relations, and maintaining DV certification, with deployments and client interactions across various settings.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent substitutions, and completion of C-1 law enforcement certification within 1 year.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses.
• An associate’s degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted.
• In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, applicants will be required to obtain C-1 law enforcement certification by the SC Criminal Justice Academy within 1 year of employment (12 weeks which includes an 8 week sequestration at the academy).

Responsibilities

• Serves as the first line of supervision for a DV caseload.
• Maintains a professional communication network inside and outside the department.
• Promotes public relations within the local community and with service providers.
• Participates in trainings and maintains DV Certification.
• Monitors the specialized supervision of a DV caseload including office visits, home visits, field visits, attendance of counseling sessions and contact with treatment providers.
• Utilizes GPS monitoring and/or alcohol monitoring technologies.
