Job summary

Spence-Chapin is seeking a full-time Social Worker for its Domestic Adoption Programs in Manhattan. The role provides clinical support to prospective adoptive parents pursuing infant adoption, conducts monthly orientations, and manages case loads across approximately 100 families.

The ideal candidate has an MSW, a NYS license, a valid driver's license, and strong organizational and communication skills. Travel between NYC and Long Island is required.

Qualifications

• MSW from an accredited school of social work.
• Minimum of two years MSW experience.
• NYS license to practice social work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home study assessments and write home study reports for families pursuing adoption.
• Perform home visits during home study assessments.
• Conduct post-placement visits and reporting to monitor transition and attachment.
• Document all client communication in the database.
• Facilitate programs, workshops, and presentations on adoption and child development.
• Provide education, counseling, and case management to pre-adoptive families.
