Job summary

Mattel is seeking a Packaging Engineer for the Dolls portfolio. This role focuses on designing innovative packaging structures and leading projects from concept through production with a strong emphasis on Artios CAD and 3D modeling.

You will collaborate with design, marketing, and overseas teams to deliver engaging unboxing experiences across Barbie, Disney Princess, Polly Pocket and other brands. A Bachelor’s degree plus 1–3 years in packaging design is expected.

Qualifications

Packaging or Industrial Design experience preferred.
Highly creative individual with ability to develop innovative package solutions.
Knowledge of package manufacturing processes and capable of generating detailed packaging specs.
Experience working in a team environment, under tight deadlines, building strong relationships.
Proficiency in Artios CAD and 3-D modeling.

Responsibilities

Create innovative packaging structures to gain competitive advantage.
Design 3D structures to protect complex products.
Originate a package concept for cost estimate and provide different packaging solutions and cost savings.
Work on many projects concurrently and adhere to packaging and business schedules.
Work cohesively with cross-functional teams to create standard engineering drawings; experience with single-layer and multi-layer paper, plastics and pulp materials.
Present ideas and solutions clearly to management and peers.
Act as liaison with global teams in Asia.
