Job summary

Destination Pet is seeking a Dog Trainer for Barker's Pet Center. You will create training plans, teach commands to dogs and their families, and adapt to each dog's personality.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of professional dog training experience, certification preferred (CGC/AKC). You should be comfortable evenings and weekends, and ready to work in a fast-paced, pet-loving team with opportunities for growth and daily pay options.

Qualifications

• One year of professional dog training experience required.
• Training certification preferred (CGC or AKC).
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of various dog breeds and commands.

Responsibilities

• Create a training plan for the dog.
• Teach commands to the dog and pet parent.
• Be patient with a stubborn dog.
• Teach pet parents about dog behavior.
• Understand a pet parent’s needs.
• Work with the pet parent to teach them about their dog.
• Teach pet parents how to reinforce good behavior.
• Listen to pet parent concerns.
• Performs add-on services as needed.
• Follows procedures for the safe handling of all pets.
