Qualifications

• Passion for animal care and welfare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pet parents.
• Demonstrated ability to work with dogs of all sizes safely.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift training equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with computer systems to manage training records and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class dog training services to pet parents and their dogs.
• Attend and pass Petco’s Dog Training Instructor Program (DTIP) within the specified stages.
• Maintain and grow the dog training business with local and national marketing support.
• Recommend and sell appropriate dog training classes, training, and supplies to clients.
• Keep accurate records of training sessions, progress, and feedback from pet parents.
• Collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to provide holistic health solutions for pets.
• Contribute to a safe training environment and follow operational guidelines and store policies.
