Overview
The Salon at Bark Avenue Pet Resort is seeking a Dog Groomer. Bark Avenue Pet Resort is Mesa’s premier pet boarding, grooming, training, and daycare facility. We aim to provide our clients and their pets with the highest quality of care, and we’re always looking for the best-in-the-industry pet professionals to join our team. The Salon at Bark Avenue was purpose-built for the comfort of both the pets in our care and our Pet Groomers. We offer high-quality equipment and varying tub sizes (including a shower) to make bathing pets easy.
Responsibilities
- Perform consultations with clients and their pets to determine needs and preferences
- Schedule appointments over the phone and in person
- Check out and walk clients through their pet’s groom and the services provided
- Bathe pets of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments as per the owner’s instructions
- Groom pets of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments as per the owner’s instructions
- Follow all safety procedures and policies as set forth by Bark Avenue
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization at the Salon and workstation, including tools and equipment
- Communicate with customers in-person and over the phone
- Provide an exceptional level of customer service
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

- Ability to work all shifts: days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- At least two (2) years experience as a professional pet groomer
- Be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma/GED
- Pass background checks and drug screenings as required by local laws
- One year of customer service experience
- Experience in premium pet industry preferred but not required
- Exposure to animal noises, dander, and dirt

Compensation
- 50% commission
- $30,000 - $100,000 per year
Requirements
- Available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Lift 50+ pounds and be able to stand/walk for long periods
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Pass background checks and drug screenings in accordance with local laws
- One year of customer service experience
