Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks a DOE Construction Section Manager to lead the construction project management team delivering federal CIP and infrastructure programs, including labs and secure facilities. You will drive growth, staffing, and subcontractor partnerships while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires strategic leadership, strong client relationships, and the ability to navigate active environments and regulatory requirements across multiple DOE sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree and 10 years related professional experience in design or project management, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in progressive design-build delivery methods.
• Leadership and/or management experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex information to all levels.
• Ability to influence, lead, and manage change.
• Strong project management skills and strategic perspective.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to a team of DOE construction project managers delivering federal and private infrastructure projects.
• Lead growth and operational performance of the DOE construction section, ensuring staffing, resources, and workforce development.
• Oversee planning and execution of capital improvement programs and federal construction projects.
• Ensure delivery across planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout with safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Coordinate with owners, partners, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders to address requirements and public communications.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and client teams for integrated project delivery and successful execution.
