Job summary

TRISTAR seeks a skilled Training Specialist to design and deliver technical training for military and government personnel across classroom, lab, and field environments. The role involves translating complex technical concepts into effective instructional content and managing hands-on training events at government sites.

Responsibilities include developing curricula, ILT/CBT/simulators, and assessment materials, while ensuring alignment with Navy standards and DoD requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, ISD, Psychology, Training Systems, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in technical instruction, training program development, or instructional design.
• Experience as a military instructor, training specialist, or technical trainer supporting DoD programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical training curricula and instructional materials per Navy ISD standards.
• Create instructor-led training, CBT, simulators, and interactive courseware.
• Deliver technical instruction to military, government, and contractor personnel.
• Translate complex tech info into structured lesson plans and student guides.
• Conduct hands-on training events and practical exercises.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and revise materials accordingly.
• Support fielding upgrades by updating curricula.
• Develop assessments and grading metrics for trainees.
• Document training activities per DoD and contract quality standards.
• Coordinate with government engineers and training teams to align materials with configurations.
