Job summary

KBR Careers in the United States is seeking a Packer (Contingency) to prepare, pack, and label materials for storage or shipment in TACOM maintenance and logistics operations. You will verify parts against packing lists and work orders, ensure secure packaging, and document accurately in accordance with government property procedures.

This contingent role is tied to award and may require standing, lifting, and shifts. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training preferred.
• Typically 1-3 years of experience in packing, warehousing, shipping, or material handling.
• Knowledge of basic packing and shipping procedures.
• Ability to read and follow packing instructions, work orders, and shipping documents.
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail for accurate labeling and documentation.
• Ability to perform work in physically demanding environments.
• Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required).
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers, the specific operations performed being dependent upon the type, size, and number of units to be packed, the type of container employed, and method of shipment.
• Placing of items in shipping containers, and may involve one or more of the following: knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content, selection of appropriate type and size of container, inserting enclosures in container; using excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage, closing and sealing container, and applying labels or entering identifying data on container.
