Job summary

Specialty Systems, Inc. seeks a Red Hat Platform Engineer to design, implement, automate, and sustain RHEL-based environments supporting government missions at Lakehurst, NJ. You will work in DoD-aligned secure infrastructure, integrating DevSecOps practices and lifecycle management.

The role requires coordinating with cross-functional teams, applying STIG/RMF controls, and ensuring scalable, reliable platforms. A Secret clearance and 5+ years of enterprise experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience required.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain interim Secret clearance quickly.
• 5+ years in Windows-based or platform engineering environments.
• Security+ CE or ability to obtain within 3–6 months.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain RHEL-based platform infrastructure across environments.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using IaC tools.
• Administer Linux systems with patching and lifecycle management.
• Apply DoD security controls (STIGs, RMF) and monitor compliance.
• Ensure platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Coordinate patching, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle maintenance of Windows systems.
• Collaborate with agile teams to support platform integration and delivery.
• Maintain documentation and architecture artifacts for program needs.
• Identify risks and support modernization initiatives across environments.
