Job summary

Dexis is seeking a Technical Writer III (Leader) to support a large-scale Army test and evaluation program in Aberdeen, Maryland. The role will lead and review technical writing efforts and produce publications that meet government standards.

You will develop reports, manuals, briefs, and data collection forms; coordinate editing, formats, and multimedia; and travel as required within CONUS/OCONUS. A valid Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six years of technical writing experience supporting DoD RDT&E programs.
• Minimum of five years of leadership experience.
• Active Secret clearance is required.
• High school diploma required.
• Must communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
• Proficiency with computers and MS Office software required.
• Must be able to travel to CONUS/OCONUS as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as working leader to technical writers and review completed work products.
• Develop, write, and edit reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical publications.
• Apply regulations and policies governing government publications and standards.
• Work with technical terminology, document formats, and multimedia formats.
• Organize technical material and ensure clear, concise, and accurate publications.
• Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and binding methods.
• Maintain records and files of technical writing products and revisions.
• Coordinate typing, duplication, and distribution of materials.
• Assist in development of speeches and public or employee relations releases.
• Edit and revise materials prepared by other writers or technical personnel.
• Develop technical materials on work methods and procedures, including equipment installation and maintenance.
