Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency seeks a Property Disposal Specialist to support reutilization and disposal activities for DoD and federal agencies. The role involves counseling on destruction and demilitarization and coordinating with contractors to ensure compliance and timely completion of tasks.

Responsibilities include maintaining property records, supervising storage and handling, and assisting in training and coordination related to disposal operations across facilities.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience in reutilization program management.
• Monitoring contractor performance and progress against task orders.
• Assisting customers with reutilization decisions and inquiries.
• Completing inventory adjustments and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to DoD, Federal Agencies, and donors in screening and selecting property for reutilization.
• Advise on destruction, demilitarization (Demil) or abandonment of property and recognize applicable Demil requirements.
• Ensure contractor completes all work on the task order and notify COR of issues; recommend remedial action.
• Ensure sales/referrals comply with merchandising practices and regulatory requirements.
• Resolve problems in all phases of disposal of excess and surplus property; maintain accountable records and inventory status.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and accountability of excess or surplus property to prevent damage, loss, or injury.
• Assist in coordination, training, and other aspects of the property disposal function.
