Job summary

DLA Careers is seeking a property disposal and reutilization specialist to support DoD and federal agencies. You will screen and advise on disposal and demilitarization of surplus government property and maintain accountability records and inventory.

You will ensure contractor performance, coordinate training, and handle inventory adjustments in a safety-conscious office/warehouse environment. This on-site role requires U.S. citizenship and compliance with federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 or higher in the federal service or private sector.
• Administering a reutilization program.
• Monitoring contractor performance.
• Assisting customers with reutilization decisions.
• Completing inventory adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to DoD, Federal Agencies and authorized donor customers in screening and selecting property for reutilization.
• Advises on destruction, demilitarization or abandonment of property and recognizes Demil property and its requirements.
• Ensures contractor completes work on the task order and notifies COR if performance is unsatisfactory and recommends remedial action.
• Ensures sales/referrals comply with good merchandising practices and regulatory requirements.
• Resolves problems in all phases of disposal of excess and surplus government property; maintains accountable records, adjustments, inventory corrections, and monitors inventory status.
• Ensures proper handling, storage and accountability of excess or surplus property to prevent damage, loss, or injury.
• Assists in coordination, training and other aspects of the property disposal function.
