Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense in Utah is seeking a hands-on Program Manager to lead DoD programs, owning cost, schedule, and contractual commitments. You will coordinate across engineering, software, supply chain, contracts, and finance to keep programs on track and aligned with regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication, and the ability to drive action in a matrixed organization while delivering successful outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, management, or related field.
• 5–8+ years in program management or DoD contracts; 5+ years with US government exposure.
• Experience managing cost, schedule, communications, risks, and corrective actions.
• Experience with DoD FAR/DFARS environments and contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, IDIQ, OTA).
• Experience managing SOW/PWS, CLINs, CDRLs, deliverables, milestones, funding, and change control.
• Ability to monitor and explain financial performance (budget, actuals, forecasts).
• Experience coordinating subcontractor or vendor performance.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed org.
• Experience briefing program status to senior leadership or government customers.
• Strong written and verbal communication; organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; MS Project or schedule tools.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 15-20%.

Responsibilities

• Own program performance including cost, schedule, commitments, customer satisfaction, and delivery results.
• Lead operating rhythm for programs with reviews, action tracking, and leadership updates.
• Serve as primary customer point of contact for assigned programs.
• Manage expectations and ensure contractual commitments are met.
• Translate SOW/CLIN/CDRL deliverables into practical program plans.
• Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, staffing plans, risk logs, and recovery plans.
• Track financial performance including funding status, burn rate, ETC/EAC inputs, revenue and margin.
• Identify risks and drive corrective action when programs deviate.
• Coordinate across engineering, software, supply chain, contracts, finance, quality, security, and logistics.
• Support contract negotiations and scope changes with leadership.
• Ensure work aligns with contract requirements and DoD regulations.
• Prepare and present program status to senior leadership and customers.
• Support proposals, BOEs, risk inputs, and transition planning.
• Identify follow-on opportunities and lessons learned.
• Foster a team environment focused on delivery.
