Job summary

Quantum Sky is seeking a Network Specialist to support the DHA LAN/WAN at Edwards AFB, CA. On-site troubleshooting and problem resolution ensure DoD network services remain available across the medical campus.

Responsibilities include operating the LAN core and edge switches, resolving routing issues, upgrading hardware/software, and maintaining security practices. Active Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of OSI Layer 1-3 and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP)
• Familiar with firewall and VPN technologies
• Experience with switches/routers and LAN/WAN troubleshooting
• Knowledge of security methodologies
• Excellent oral and written communications
• Education: Bachelor’s in technical field + 3 years related experience, or completed cert program + 8 years
• DoD 8570.01 Information Assurance Training/Certification compliance
• Security+ CE certification required
• Current CCNA or Juniper/Brocade equivalent preferred
• DoD/medical network experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides daily operational support for the LAN core and edge switches across the medical network campus
• Resolves issues with network routing protocols at all OSI levels using diagnostic tools
• Supports routing and switching equipment, firewalls, and cabling
• Plans, installs, and supports hardware/software upgrades and resolves related issues
