Job summary

Quantum Sky is seeking a Network Specialist to support the DoD DHA LAN/WAN at the Naval Hospital in Guam. The role focuses on maintaining core and edge switches, troubleshooting LAN/WAN issues, and ensuring reliable network services across the medical campus.

Candidates should have strong OSI 1–3 knowledge, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, firewall/VPN expertise, and certifications such as Security+ CE. A DoD clearance and 8570.01 compliance are required or strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Understanding OSI model Layers 1–3 incl. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
• Familiarity with firewall and VPN technologies.
• Strong network experience maintaining switches/routers and troubleshooting LAN/WAN problems.
• Knowledge of general security methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 3 years related experience, or completion of certification program with 8 years related experience.
• DoD Directive 8570.01 compliance required.
• Security+ CE certification required.
• Current CCNA or Juniper/Brocade equivalent preferred.
• DoD/medical network experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily operational support for the LAN core and edge switches across the medical network campus.
• Resolves network and routing protocol issues using diagnostic tools.
• Supports routing/switching gear, firewalls, and cabling infrastructure.
• Plans and supports hardware/software upgrades and resolves related issues.
