Job summary

Space Programs seeks a Network Administrator to support NAVAIR at Patuxent River, MD. This mid-level role covers enterprise network infrastructure, boundary services, cybersecurity compliance, and modernization across a large DoD environment.

Expect 2–3 days onsite per week with opportunities to work with Cisco, F5 BIG-IP, and cloud modernization efforts alongside experienced teams. DoD security, PKI, and STIGs familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting network infrastructure, Cisco devices, IP networking, or related enterprise network environments.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II compliant certification, such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, or another qualifying certification
• Top Secret clearance eligibility; US Citizenship is required for work on DoD contracts
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams and customers

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and application-level connectivity and performance issues
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, and other network infrastructure
• Manage and administer F5 BIG-IP devices and load balancing services
• Deploy new network devices in accordance with approved engineering designs
• Support highly available network architectures and traffic management solutions
• Maintain boundary security infrastructure supporting NAVAIR core sites
• Work with NCDOC, NAVAIR IA, and Prog Mgmt to investigate network security incidents
• Support DoD PKI enablement efforts
• Support NMCI/legacy network interoperability and cloud migration initiatives
• Review STIG requirements and support remediation of vulnerabilities
• Assist with network documentation, SOPs, and desk guides
• Collaborate with Windows, Unix/Linux, cybersecurity, cloud, engineering teams
• Participate in on-call rotation and off-hours maintenance
