Job summary

Specialty Systems, Inc. has an opening for a Systems and Network Administrator to support DoD missions at Joint Base MDL. The role involves managing mixed Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, and secure Navy network integration in a lab environment.

You will work a four 9s/one 8 schedule, with a three-day weekend every other week, and contribute to DoD cybersecurity compliance while collaborating with engineers and cybersecurity personnel.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field; equivalent work experience allowed.
• Secret level or higher clearance or ability to obtain it.
• At least 3 years of systems administration or combined systems and network administration experience.
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification or ability to obtain within 3–6 months and satisfy DoD Cyber Workforce requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, secure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems in various environments.
• Administer user accounts, permissions, directory services, and Group Policy.
• Monitor system health, perform tuning, and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage patching, backups, and lifecycle maintenance of servers and devices.
• Support virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Configure network switches and servers for connectivity and security.
• Maintain system and network documentation and diagrams.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, developers, and engineers to support labs and operations.
