Job summary

Intelligent Waves is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support DoD SAP environments at Eglin AFB, Florida. The ISSO will work with the ISSM, ISSE, and ISO to maintain security posture, manage RMF-based authorization, and oversee continuous monitoring and incident handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Five or more years of ISSO or equivalent information assurance experience.
• Working knowledge of the RMF and system authorization process.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining authorization documentation.
• Ability to communicate security requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist the ISSM in executing information system security duties and responsibilities.
• Prepare, review, and update system authorization packages.
• Maintain security control documentation and continuous monitoring artifacts per RMF/JSIG.
• Track and manage POA&M through closure.
• Conduct continuous monitoring activities for authorization boundaries.
• Coordinate changes to hardware/software/firmware with ISSM/AO/DAO prior to implementation.
• Conduct periodic reviews to verify security authorization package compliance.
• Support STIG compliance, vulnerability scanning, and remediation coordination.
• Notify ISSM of changes affecting authorization determinations.
• Ensure procedures for clearing and destroying hardware/media.
• Collect, review and document audit records including anomalies.
• Monitor recovery processes to ensure security features function correctly.
• Ensure information system security documentation is current and accessible.
• Execute cybersecurity portion of self-inspection and security coordination.
• Identify vulnerabilities and assist with countermeasures implementation.
• Support incident handling and reporting with ISSM.
• Prepare status reports on security safeguards.
• Perform ISSO duties for in-house and external customers.
• Assist DoD/agency/contractor A&A efforts.
• Attend required technical/security trainings.
