Job summary

Parsons is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) / Cyber Systems Engineer to support a DoD system. The role focuses on vulnerability management, RMF compliance, and remediation in a hands-on, highly secure environment.

You will work with the ISSO to remediate findings, manage Jira tickets for POA&Ms, and ensure continuous compliance with NIST standards. A TS/SCI clearance and DoD experience are required, with opportunity for growth within the Federal Solutions team.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or related field.
• 4+ years of DoD/federal cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Active IAT Level II or Level III baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+ CE, CISSP).
• Experience using ACAS/Nessus for vulnerability scanning.
• Knowledge of DISA STIGs and NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Experience with patch management in secure environments.
• Strong scripting to automate STIG checks.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly ACAS vulnerability scans and quarterly STIG/SCAP scans.
• Perform monthly patch upgrades to maintain compliance.
• Conduct annual manual STIG checks for non-automatable components.
• Remediate POA&M findings via Jira tickets.
• Assist ISSO with incident response and log analysis.
• Maintain security documentation, diagrams, HW/SW lists, PPSM docs.
• Support RMF documentation per NIST SP 800-53 guidelines.
