Job summary

geo cgi seeks an Associate Data Manager to support an Air Force geospatial program at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois. You will help maintain geospatial datasets, ensure data quality, and comply with security requirements while collaborating with GIS professionals and system admins.

Ideal candidates bring a foundation in geospatial data management, strong attention to detail, and a drive to grow skills in a defense-oriented enterprise GIS environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Data Management, GIS, CS, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with geospatial data formats (shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, raster).
• Knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL / PostGIS or similar databases.
• Understanding of data quality, security, and accessibility principles.
• Willingness to work onsite at Scott Air Force Base.

Responsibilities

• Organize, maintain, and manage geospatial datasets per Air Force and DoD policies.
• Support data ingestion, transformation, and distribution for geospatial apps and mission needs.
• Perform data quality control to maintain accuracy, integrity, and security of geospatial data.
• Assist with metadata management, tagging, and data organization for discoverability.
• Collaborate with GIS analysts and system admins to improve data workflows and performance.
• Apply DoD and Air Force cybersecurity requirements when handling sensitive data.
• Troubleshoot data access issues and format conversions.
• Support geospatial databases including SQL and PostGIS.
• Work with developers and analysts to meet mission requirements and data accessibility.
• Help develop data management standards and best practices.
