Job summary

NV5 Geospatial is seeking an Associate Data Manager to organize, secure, and maintain geospatial datasets for an Air Force program. The role emphasizes data quality, controlled access, and compliant handling of DoD information within a fast-paced environment.

You will work with GIS tools, database systems, and data pipelines to ensure accurate ingestion, transformation, and distribution for mission-critical applications. Onsite at Scott AFB with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, GIS, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with geospatial data formats (shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, raster).
• Understanding of database management (SQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
• Familiarity with data security protocols and handling of classified information.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a classified, fast-paced environment supporting Air Force operations.

Responsibilities

• Organize, store, and maintain geospatial data per Air Force/DoD policies.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security through QC measures.
• Support data ingestion, transformation, and distribution for geospatial apps.
• Collaborate with analysts and sysadmins to optimize data workflows.
• Assist metadata management, tagging, and documentation.
• Apply DoD and Air Force cybersecurity policies to protect sensitive data.
• Troubleshoot data access issues and format conversions.
• Enhance data accessibility and performance with developers and GIS staff.
