Job summary

The Building People, LLC, seeks a Mechanical Engineer for Department of Defense projects. You will design and support facility control systems (UMCS, HVAC, DDC, SCADA) and prepare specifications, drawings, and sequences of operation.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and field teams to deliver code-compliant, reliable systems. Responsibilities include testing, commissioning, as-built updates, and O&M inputs while coordinating with project managers.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
• Experience designing engineered solutions for UMCS, HVAC controls, DDC, SCADA, FAS, ESS, and metering.
• Proficiency with load and capacity calculations, diagrams, schedules, and sequences of operation.
• Experience supporting factory/site tests and commissioning activities.
• Familiarity with applicable codes (NFPA, UFC, UFGS, IBC, ASHRAE standards).
• Ability to read drawings and prepare technical reports; strong communication with stakeholders.
• Eligible for Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and provide technical support for facility control system projects.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Coordinate interfaces between power and controls; support submittals and RFIs.
• Assist with factory/site/integrated system testing and commissioning.
• Produce as-built updates and O&M inputs; support field teams.
