Job summary

Temple University is seeking a DoD Director of Contracts to provide strategic leadership for the university’s DoD contract and grant portfolio. The role directs contract administration to ensure FAR/DFARS compliance and university policy adherence across the award lifecycle.

You will negotiate with DoD sponsors, oversee a contract management team, and drive policies, training, and risk management essential to defense-funded research operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, finance, accounting, law, or related field.
• Six years of progressively responsible federal contract experience, including DoD contracts.
• Three years of supervisory/management experience in research or contracts.
• Experience negotiating and administering complex FAR/DFARS contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Temple University's DoD contract and grant portfolio.
• Direct administration to ensure FAR/DFARS and university policy compliance.
• Lead high-risk contract negotiations with federal sponsors and contract officers.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls for DoD contracting.
• Oversee audits, investigations, and corrective action plans for DoD activities.
