Job summary

Trident Systems is seeking a Senior Director of Contracts in Fairfax, VA to lead the contracts function across the full lifecycle. Reporting to the CFO, this role advises executive leadership on strategy, risk, and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, and government agreements.

The position demands deep experience with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and a track record of guiding a contracts organization within aerospace/defense sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Contracts, Finance, Law, or equivalent.
• 15+ years of related experience or 13+ years with a graduate degree.
• Experience in government contracting with aerospace/defense focus.
• Leadership of a contracts organization and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong knowledge of export compliance, ITAR, and federal contracting rules.
• Experience with FAR/DFARS, multiple contract types (FFP, CPFF/CPAF, T&M, IDIQ).
• Ability to identify and mitigate contractual and business risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Contracts organization with staffing and policies.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of government and commercial contracts.
• Advise executives on contractual strategy, risk, and negotiations.
• Lead negotiations of complex contracts with government and partners.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, ITAR, CAS, and TINA requirements.
• Collaborate with multiple functions to support proposals and contract execution.
• Identify contractual risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support audits and regulatory inquiries and maintain internal controls.
