Job summary

Intrepid Acquisition Holdings, LLC, operating as Intrepid Group, seeks a Site Safety and Health Officer to lead the safety program for Hurricane Isaias Damage Assessment and Recovery at Hurlburt Field and Eglin Air Force Base. The SSHO ensures compliance with OSHA, DoD safety requirements, site safety plans, and Government policies.

Role collaborates with Site Manager, QC Manager, subcontractors, and Government representatives to maintain a safe workplace, prevent accidents, and document safety

Qualifications

• Five years of continuous construction safety experience supervising and managing general construction activities.
• Experience implementing and monitoring construction safety programs and procedures.
• Knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Experience conducting job site safety inspections, identifying hazards, and implementing corrective actions.
• Experience developing and maintaining safety documentation, conducting safety briefings, and investigating incidents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and monitor construction and recovery activities for compliance with safety regulations.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective and preventative measures.
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and jobsite safety briefings for contractor personnel.
• Ensure PPE use and adherence to established safety procedures.
• Monitor OSHA compliance, contract safety requirements, and government installation policies.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare required reports and corrective action plans.
• Maintain safety records, inspection logs, training records, and incident reports.
• Coordinate with the Site Manager and subcontractors to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee activities involving construction equipment, electrical systems, fall protection, hazardous materials, and related hazards.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions are identified and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Coordinate with Government safety representatives regarding inspections and reporting requirements.
