Job summary

FedTec in New Jersey seeks a PC Systems Specialist to plan, design, install, and maintain personal computer systems for end users. You will support moderately complex applications and translate user requirements into solutions using custom programming, COTS software, or hardware optimization.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance and a verifiable CompTIA Security+ certification, with a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience (or AA with 7 years).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience; or AA with 7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting PC hardware, software and peripherals in mid-to-large scale environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and install new and existing PC systems.
• Consult with end users to determine hardware and software needs.
• Develop or customize software to meet identified needs (COTS or custom).
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and system software.
• Maintain telecommunications protocols as required and provide troubleshooting support.
• Train and support end users and document system configurations and instructions.
• Ensure IT security and access controls comply with policies.
