Job summary

STI-TEC is seeking an Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) Modeler to provide Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis support to U.S. Department of Defense programs.

The selected candidate will design, build, and execute AFSIM-based scenarios and models that assess system performance, CONOPS, and mission outcomes for government stakeholders. The role requires on-site work in Beavercreek/Dayton, OH with occasional travel up to ~10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 2-5+ years of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) or MS&A for DoD or Intelligence Community programs.
• Hands-on experience using AFSIM for scenario development, analysis, or model configuration.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming (e.g., AFSIM scripting, Python, MATLAB) to automate runs and post-process data.
• Ability to interpret and model operational concepts and system characteristics from government documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and configure AFSIM models, entities, and scenarios for analyses.
• Translate operational concepts and threat environments into executable AFSIM representations.
• Develop and modify AFSIM behaviors, parameters, and configurations.
• Use scripting to automate scenario execution, parametric studies, and analyses.
• Collaborate with government analysts, operators, and engineers to define study objectives and outputs.
• Analyze outputs, generate visualizations, and prepare briefings for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support verification and validation of models and document assumptions and data sources.
• Contribute to technical documentation and contract deliverables.
