VT Group (VTG) in Ohio seeks an experienced AFSIM Modeler to provide MS&A support for DoD programs. You will design, build, and execute AFSIM-based scenarios and models to evaluate system performance, CONOPS, and mission outcomes for government stakeholders.

Requirements include 2–5+ years in Modeling and Simulation, hands-on AFSIM experience, scripting (Python, MATLAB), and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

• Hands-on experience using AFSIM for scenario development, analysis, or model configuration.

• Ability to interpret and model operational concepts, threat laydowns, and system characteristics from government documentation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and briefing skills for government customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; active Secret or higher preferred.

Do you have what it takes?

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in Modeling and Simulation (M&S) or MS&A for DoD or Intelligence Community programs.
• Hands-on experience using AFSIM for scenario development, analysis, or model configuration (e.g., entities, weapons, sensors, tactics).
• Familiarity with scripting or programming (e.g., AFSIM scripting, Python, MATLAB, or similar tools) to automate runs and post-process data.
• Ability to interpret and model operational concepts, threat laydowns, and system characteristics from government documentation and SMEs.
• Strong analytical, communication, and briefing skills, with experience presenting technical results to government customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; current active Secret or higher strongly preferred.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting AFLCMC, AFRL, or other Dayton-area DoD organizations on MS&A tasks.
• Background in air, space, or multi-domain operations, electronic warfare, or command and control modeling.
• Experience with C++ or other compiled languages used to extend or customize AFSIM components.
• Familiarity with data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Excel, or similar).
• Prior experience working as a government contractor delivering technical reports, briefings, and CDRLs.

Work Environment and Travel

• Position is primarily on-site at government or contractor facilities in the Beavercreek/Dayton, OH area, with limited telework as authorized by the customer.
• Occasional travel (up to ~10%) to customer sites, test locations, or program reviews may be required.
