Job summary

Redwood Strategy Group is seeking a Level II – DoD Accounting SME to provide accounting, audit, and financial systems expertise supporting DoD entities. You will analyze ERP data, review DPAS-like systems, and ensure GAAP and SFFAS compliance while supporting audits and remediation efforts.

Join a team focused on accuracy, audit readiness, and internal controls improvements, with responsibilities spanning analysis, reporting, and stakeholder coordination within a federal accounting framework.

Qualifications

• 5+ years full-time accounting/consulting experience supporting DoD entities.
• 5+ years audit response and remediation experience.
• Experience applying GAAP and/or SFFAS in federal accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Active Secret or above clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze financial system data within Navy ERP systems.
• Evaluate data in DPAS or similar property/accounting systems.
• Analyze transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Maintain and publish quarterly newsletter and RMIC schedule.
• Support audit response activities and remediation efforts.
• Develop corrective actions per GAAP/SFFAS and internal controls.
• Identify root causes of discrepancies and suggest process improvements.
• Prepare financial analyses and reports using Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to support audit readiness and compliance.
• Manage Remediation Tracker for NFRs, CAPS, Milestones, and Validations.
