Job summary

The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a doctoral-prepared occupational therapist to join Utah Tech University’s new OTD program in St. George, Utah.

The position focuses on developing and teaching graduate-level OT courses with emphasis on mental health, children and youth, and adult/older adult practice. The role includes student advisement, scholarly activity, and faculty development, with an initial non-instructional workload in course development before teaching begins in Fall

Qualifications

• NBCOT certification is required for eligibility.
• Doctoral degree from a USDE-recognized regionally accredited institution.
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in Utah.
• Minimum of three years of professional practice experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as course director and maintain currency with health care trends, OT practice, and area of expertise.
• Provide evaluations that are appropriate, equitable, and professional with constructive feedback.
• Exhibit objectivity in dealings with students and all learning activities.
• Continually adapt teaching strategies to meet student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students and colleagues.
• Develop proficiency in teaching areas through investigation and education.
• Participate in evaluation of teaching methods and curriculum and adapt as needed.
• Serve as academic advisor for OT students and related programs.
