Saia Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Dockworker Supervisor to support terminal operations, directing dockworkers and coordinating daily freight handling for over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and straight trucks.

You will coach, train, and mentor staff, ensure safety and compliance, verify shipments, and maintain accurate logs and reports while promoting a clean, efficient work environment in a fast-paced logistics setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend English to perform tasks and complete shipping documents.

Responsibilities

• Assists supervisors with leading and directing daily dockworker functions.
• Coaches, trains, and mentors new and existing dockworkers.
• Loads and unloads trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment in compliance with regulations.
• Operates dock tools to ensure loads are secured and properly loaded.
• Inspects shipments by reading labels and securing freight for loading/unloading.
• Follows bill and quality control procedures to ensure timely, cost-efficient shipments.
• Logs, reports, and processes freight shortages and damages.
• Promotes and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
