Job summary

Armstrong Teasdale is seeking a Docket Coordinator to manage our IP docketing system, track deadlines, and support US and international IP matters. The role requires updating docket databases and producing reports for attorneys and clients.

Qualifications include 2+ years IP docketing experience, proficiency with CPI/Anaqua/Lecorpio/FoundationIP, and a high school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred). The position is on-site in Missouri with standard firm hours.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CPI, Anaqua, Lecorpio or FoundationIP.
  • Knowledge of USPTO procedures and patent office communications.

Responsibilities

  • Review mail and filings to determine due dates for IP matters.
  • Enter dates and reminders into the docket database.
  • Prepare docket reports for attorneys and clients as needed.
  • Monitor daily deadlines and alert responsible attorneys to critical dates.
  • Update docket records based on USPTO or foreign IP office communications.
  • Maintain accuracy across internal docketing systems.

Summary Description

The Docket Coordinator manages the docket system to track deadlines and mitigate malpractice. This role will support US and international docketing processes and supports Intellectual Property.

Essential Functions

  • Review incoming mail and filings for the IP group that relates to patent matters to determine due dates or reminder dates that need to be entered into the firm’s docket database.
  • May download and save documents into the firm’s internal document management system.
  • Process and forward information regarding each date entered into the docket database to the appropriate individuals.
  • Enter all due dates and reminder dates as appropriate into docket database.
  • May be requested to prepare docket reports for attorneys, business professionals and clients.
  • Follow up on daily docket deadlines to ensure they have satisfied all of the day’s due dates; inform responsible attorneys of critical end of day deadlines.
  • Update all information in docket databases on a daily basis as indicated by responsible attorneys, clients and patent office communications.
  • May be requested to update client docket databases.
  • May review information from the USPTO and foreign country patent offices regarding law changes and update docketing system as necessary.
Qualifications
Education

High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred

Experience

2+ of intellectual property experience.

Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with docketing software such as CPI, Anaqua, Lecorpio and FoundationIP.
  • Thorough knowledge of procedures and practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Knowledge of and experience with resources such as Patent Center and other International IP law databases.
