We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Dockworker. This role is vital for ensuring the safe, efficient loading and unloading of freight, as well as supporting overall warehouse and material handling operations. Job Summary

The dockworker will efficiently load and unload freight, ensuring correct items are placed on the right trucks. Safety is paramount, and Dock Workers will use equipment like forklifts and manual techniques to handle materials. Proper securing of freight with airbags, cardboard, and straps is crucial to prevent damage during transport. This position directly impacts the reliability of deliveries to customers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manually, in compliance with DOT guidelines.
• Transport freight throughout the service center on various surfaces.
• Monitor freight shipment locations using the Dock Yard Management System.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and complete related freight movement forms.
• Handle freight by hand, rewrap, or stack as necessary.
• Ensure quality loading of trailers.
• Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools and supplies.
• Maintain communication with service center personnel in a fast-paced environment.

Job Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• Knowledge of safe lifting and transportation procedures.
• Understanding of freight transportation processes and loading techniques.
• Ability to complete freight movement forms.
• Proficiency with yard management systems.
• Availability to meet customer schedules.
• Ability to operate handheld tablets.

Physical Demands

Must meet physical requirements, including the ability to lift objects up to 100 lbs, stand for extended periods, walk, bend, climb, and perform other physically demanding tasks as detailed in the original description.

Work Environment

Exposure to various environments, weather conditions, noise levels, and lighting conditions as described in the original description.

Working days are Monday through Friday, with PM shifts; schedules are subject to change.
