Job summary

AJM Packaging Corporation, located in El Cajon, CA, is seeking a Dock Foreman to oversee dock activities, manage the flow of materials, and ensure accurate shipping and receiving. This full-time role includes supervising staff, coordinating with production planning, and promoting safe handling practices in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires two years of relevant experience, Hi-Lo forklift proficiency, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Two years of dock foreman or lead experience.
• Experience with Hi-Lo forklift is preferred.
• Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
• Experience with cycle counts is preferred.
• Ability to monitor and improve dock processes.

Responsibilities

• Check and verify incoming and outgoing loads to ensure accuracy and quality of product and packaging.
• Monitors product flows and movement using computer software applications.
• Consult with production planning team to plan deliveries for the next day.
• Teach and implement safe lifting and loading techniques and evaluate staff compliance.
• Assess efficiency and performance of distribution activities and recommend improvements.
• Ensure product handling and delivery practices meet customer expectations and business objectives.
• Inspect, clean, and lift equipment and supervise the same for material handlers.
• Maintain a well-organized staging area and direct staging to minimize loading times and maximize flow.
• Conduct accurate cycle counts to maintain inventories and minimize discrepancies.
• Supervise staff: assign work, provide instruction, review work, and support performance appraisals.
• Build-ups of shipped materials; reconfigure/re-stack pallets as needed.
