Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Dock Supervisor for the Wilson, NC Service Center on the 3rd shift (Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 PM – 9:00 AM). Pay ranges from $68,000 to $85,000 per year with full benefits.

The role focuses on managing dock and dispatch operations, leading drivers and freight handlers, ensuring safety and quality freight handling, and timely dispatch of LTL loads while supporting the Service Center Manager as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a dock, shipping, or transportation setting.
• Ability to lead in fast-paced environments with strong organizational skills.
• Experience coordinating dock, driver, and freight-handler scheduling.
• Knowledge of safety compliance and freight handling procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Knowledge of local city and surrounding area logistics.
• Experience with LTL dispatching is preferred.
• Ability to adapt to various duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Driver and Freight Handler Management
• Coordinate Dock Operation and Driver/Freight Handler scheduling
• Ensure Safety Compliance
• Ensure quality freight handling procedures are followed
• Timely dispatching of LTL Loads
• Other duties as assigned by the Service Center Manager
• Candidates must have proven basic leadership experience.
• Must have the ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Organizational / Communication/ and Logistical skills with solid problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of quality freight handling preferred.
• Must have computer skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of the City, and surrounding areas
• Prior LTL leadership experience is strongly preferred.
