Job summary

AAA Cooper Transportation, Inc. is seeking a Supervisor to oversee daily terminal and dock operations in Reno, NV. You will manage dockworkers, enforce safety and DOT/OSHA compliance, and drive continuous improvement through training and performance monitoring.

You will analyze operational data, adjust staffing, and coordinate with managers to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets, while maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive dock environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, freight, dock, or logistics operations.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and safe freight-handling practices.
• Forklift certification or hazmat training preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments.
• Successful completion of new-hire training, including assessments, and forklift test.
• Minimum 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Monitor employee safety practices daily.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized dock environment.
• Supervise dockworkers and assign tasks to optimize labor and equipment.
• Ensure trailers are loaded/unloaded correctly for safe transport.
• Review reports and recommend efficiency, service quality, and cost improvements.
• Make quick decisions on freight volume and communicate schedules.
• Coach and train employees on safety and company policies.
• Provide feedback and manage disciplinary actions as needed.
• Lead daily shift meetings to align teams with objectives.
• Use freight systems to track shipments and productivity.
• Complete required forms and hazmat documentation.
• Collaborate with Operations and Service Center Managers on goals.
• Offer analysis for improvements across shifts.
