Job summary

ABF Freight is seeking a Supervisor, Operations I to oversee daily Service Center operations, lead a team, and ensure adherence to company procedures and safety standards. The role involves directing loading/unloading, coordinating assignments, and maintaining compliant operations across indoor and outdoor settings.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills, required
• 2 years leadership experience, preferred
• Transportation experience preferred but not required
• General knowledge of freight, transportation regulations, safety standards, and proper freight handling techniques, preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts
• Communicate job assignments and monitor performance with all employees
• Maintain load plans and ensure load balance for safe vehicle operation
• Assign tasks to workers according to unloading/loading schedules
• Provide training, analyses, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed
• Provide positive and constructive feedback to employees
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment for personnel and customers
• Foster safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage of hazardous materials
• Work in a team to achieve department goals

• Other duties; starting pay ranges between $72,000.00 to $90,500.00 annually; negotiated at offer DOE
