Position Overview

IDOC is looking to hire an Office Associate to receive and prepare documents necessary for the release of individuals in custody from the facility and prepare and keyboard a variety of documents, correspondence, memos and statistical reports. In addition, this position will receive writ packets and prepare them for release and receive and respond to inquiries from attorneys and physicians. Essential Functions
  • In conformance with existing Federal and State statutes, as well as administrative and institutional directives, receives and prepares documents necessary for the release of Individuals in Custody from the facility including court writs, medical furloughs, etc.
  • Prepares and keyboards documents, correspondence, memos, and statistical reports, some of a legal nature, as required.
  • Receives writ packets from other institutions and prepares them for release on court writs and medical furloughs.
  • Receives and responds to inquiries from attorneys and physicians regarding the status of Individuals in Custody furloughs and writs, requiring thorough knowledge of Agency policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and (2) two years of office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires the ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
