MPI is seeking an experienced Superintendent - Construction for Manhattan-based ground-up developments in New York City. You will oversee field operations from excavation through turnover, coordinate subs and vendors, and ensure schedules and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations on ground-up construction projects from excavation to turnover.
• Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field staff; coordinate with PMs, architects, engineers, and ownership teams.
• Maintain schedules, look-ahead plans, and project documentation; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Review drawings (architectural, structural, civil, MEP) and coordinate construction activities.
• Manage inspections, permits, punches, and project closeout; resolve field issues to protect schedule and budget.

Job Description

As a Superintendent - Construction - Manhattan, you will be responsible for:

• Managing all field operations on ground-up construction projects
• Overseeing projects from excavation, foundation, and structure through interiors and turnover
• Supervising subcontractors, Assistant Superintendents, vendors, and field personnel
• Maintaining project schedules and driving critical milestones
• Coordinating site logistics, deliveries, manpower, and subcontractor sequencing
• Working closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, consultants, and ownership teams
• Reviewing architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
• Coordinating structural concrete, steel, façade, MEP, and interior construction activities
• Conducting quality control inspections throughout all phases of construction
• Managing DOB inspections, permit requirements, and regulatory compliance
• Identifying and resolving field issues before they impact schedule or budget
• Maintaining daily reports, look-ahead schedules, and project documentation
• Managing punch-list completion and project closeout
• Ensuring compliance with all OSHA and site safety requirements

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Current and Active NYC DOB Construction Superintendent License (Required)
• 7-10+ years of ground-up construction experience
• Proven experience delivering multifamily, mixed-use, hotel, or large-scale residential projects
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing from excavation through turnover
• Experience with concrete, structural steel, building envelope, MEP systems, and interior construction
• Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
• Experience managing subcontractors, field staff, and complex jobsite logistics
• Strong scheduling and milestone management experience
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and project execution
• OSHA 30 Certification preferred
