Job summary

Northwestern State University College of Nursing and School of Allied Health seeks a Doctor of Nursing Practice Director in Shreveport or Off-Campus Instructional site in Louisiana. The review of applications will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in nursing practice or nursing research.
• Unencumbered Louisiana RN license.
• Significant administrative/leadership experience in higher education.
• Experience developing or coordinating DNP curricula/programs.
• Evidence of ongoing scholarly activity; online teaching proficiency.
• Eligible for Graduate Faculty membership.
• Report to Senior Director and Dean of CONSAH.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate program faculty/staff; lead continuous quality improvement; maintain accreditation; develop/update curricula and new concentrations.
• Explore workforce-need-driven program expansion to advance the college and university.
• Create vibrant, inclusive, rigorous, active-learning experiences for all NSU DNP students.
• Ensure sufficient numbers of qualified doctoral faculty to lead quality programs.
• Foster a passionate, respectful, transparent workplace for all program faculty and staff.
• Maintain excellence in teaching, service, scholarly growth, and professional engagement.
• Maintain required office hours and attendance; teach online and face-to-face doctoral nursing courses.
• Represent the College of Nursing and NSU professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee student learning experiences and supervise clinical/faculty activities.
• Creatively recruit students for all DNP program concentrations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Senior Director, Dean, or University Administration.
