Qualifications

  • At least 9 credit hours in biology/chemistry-related areas for DNA analysis foundations.
  • Additional coursework in statistics or population genetics.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, examine, and identify physical forensic evidence using established procedures.
  • Present findings as a report to court when required.
  • Follow lab procedures, personnel regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Undergo proficiency testing and perform related duties.
  • Keep abreast of DNA advances through training and conferences.
  • Assist Lab Director and others with scientific information and training.
  • Share laboratory duties, including training, safety, and accreditation efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
