The Crime Analyst II role within the State of California's CAL-DNA Data Bank program supports laboratory staff and coordinates statewide DNA sample collection training for law enforcement, ensuring proper submission and correct data entry.

You will gain knowledge of California statutes and regulations on DNA collection and expungement, evaluate eligibility for expungement, and participate in special projects to improve accuracy and efficiency of statewide DNA collection practices.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing data and extracting actionable results.
• Ability to follow directions and work with sensitive information.
• Knowledge of criminal justice databases and terminology.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct statewide DNA sample collection training for law enforcement personnel.
• Query Law Enforcement databases to determine offender and offense eligibility for submission.
• Evaluate eligibility for expungement of DNA samples and profiles.
• Participate in special projects to improve DNA submission accuracy and collection practices statewide.
• Manage the State’s DNA sample collection kit supply.
