Job summary

The Lead DMV Program Accountability Auditor position with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles, is responsible for overseeing statewide audit and compliance activities, including LPAs, OLDs, OOSDs, and DMV data access.

You will work with the Accountability Manager, develop audit procedures, review work, and provide guidance to auditors while applying knowledge of statutes, rules, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and three years progressively responsible experience in auditing or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of auditing principles, accounting practices, and internal controls.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate findings.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and scheduling of audit activities for DMV programs.
• Coordinate auditor assignments and develop audit procedures.
• Prepare audit findings and management-level reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and DMV policies.
