The North Carolina Department of Transportation – Division of Motor Vehicles seeks a DMV Program Accountability Auditor to perform financial, operational, and compliance audits across DMV offices and partners. The role requires independent work, strong analytical skills, and statewide travel to conduct audits of LPAs, DLOs, and online dealers.

The auditor will review funds and internal controls, prepare detailed reports, and may assist with investigations.

Qualificações

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment.
Experience with accounting practices and procedures.
Ability to travel statewide, including overnight and out-of-state travel.

Responsabilidades

Perform financial, operational, and compliance audits of DMV offices, contracted agencies, and business partners.
Travel statewide to conduct audits of 129 Contract License Plate Agencies (LPAs), 113 Driver License Offices (DLOs), Online Dealers (OLDs), and other assigned entities.
Review State funds, daily deposits, financial reconciliations, accountable inventory, dealer accounts, transaction records, supporting documentation, fees, internal controls, and other operational activities; identify discrepancies and risks.
Prepare clear and comprehensive audit reports for management review; testify in court when required.
Assist with investigations involving missing funds or inventory, suspected embezzlement, misconduct, or internal control deficiencies.
