Job summary

Model 1 Commercial Vehicles in Indianapolis seeks a software developer to support the DMS team by building automations, integrations, and reporting. You will transition Excel VBA tools to modern web apps, move data access from SQL queries to APIs, and collaborate with the Sr.

Business Systems Manager to design, test, and maintain SQL-based processes. You'll work with Excede (Procede) administration, security workspaces, and data exports, using Claude Code as part of daily development while

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of hands-on SQL Server / T-SQL development.
• Proficient in Python for scripting and automation.
• Experience building web applications with REST APIs.
• Ability to read and reverse‑engineer VBA code.
• Strong debugging and incremental testing approach.
• Clear ability to explain technical decisions to varied audiences.
• Comfort handling real-world CSV exports and legacy schemas.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain T-SQL views, stored procedures, and jobs.
• Document logic and rebuild Excel VBA tools as web apps.
• Migrate data access to API-based integrations using DMS APIs.
• Troubleshoot and document fixes for SQL logic.
• Support Excede (Procede) administration including security workspaces.
• Build Python scripts for data extraction and Windows/Office automation.
• Analyze DMS exports and create stakeholder reports.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Maintain system documentation and diagrams.
• Work in local and test environments before production.
• Use Claude Code for AI-assisted development with verification.
